Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions:

Grease a 9 by 9-inch 23 by 23 cm square baking pan and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius

Mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt in a mixing bowl

To the dry ingredients, add the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract

Blend until thoroughly blended

Add the coconut shreds and mix

Evenly spread out the batter after pouring it into the baking pan

Once the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth, combine the hot water and chocolate chips in a different small bowl

Over the cake batter in the pan, pour the chocolate mixture

A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean after baking for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated oven

Using a fork, make holes all over the top of the cake while it's still warm

Evenly cover the warm cake with the sweetened condensed milk, letting it soak in

Before serving, allow the cake to cool completely in the pan

Slice and savor your delectable Chocolate Coconut Cake after it has cooled!
